Competitive Teams represent the most competitive teams in a given age group at the Soccer Club of St. Cloud.

Team Formation Selection Process

Our competitive coaches, director of coaches and competitive director conduct the selection process. Players are evaluated on skill, attitude, and coachability.

SCSC makes every effort to keep the process as unbiased as possible and will notify the parents in a timely manner as to whether their player made the team or not. Players that are selected for teams need to indicate their acceptance of the offered position within 72 hours.

The Season

Training

U-9 to U-14 Teams train July through November, half of January, then February, through May.

U-15 to U-19 Teams train July through May with breaks in November through January for High School soccer.

Tournaments

All teams must attend a minimum of 1 tournament in the Fall and 1 tournament in the Spring. The tournaments are selected by the head coach to suit the needs of the team and are an additional cost.
Premier and League 1 teams will also participate in FYSA state tournaments (State Cup, President’s Cup and Commissioner’s Cup) at the discretion of the head coach and director of coaches.
Tournaments may have games on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays – including Sunday mornings.

League Play

Competitive teams enter into GCFYSL League.
Premier level teams also participate in FSPL and Sunshine State Leagues.
Both Fall and Spring may have both Saturday and Sunday games. Sunday games start after 12 noon.
Half of the season games are played at our home fields and half of the games are played away. Average travel time is 35 minutes to away fields.

Tryouts

All players are required to tryout again each year for the next Fall Season in May.
